The Industry Innovator Awards is a new program to honor individuals within brand marketing and retail organizations whose innovative thinking led to exceptional business success in 2020. 

In the world of shopper commerce, it has always been critical for brand marketers and retailers to implement true innovation to keep pace with an evolving marketplace, especially during periods of massive change. With Innovation at the core of our mission, the Path to Purchase Institute will recognize personal excellence within our community through the Industry Innovator Awards.

Our mission to identify worthy “Innovator of the Year” candidates across four categories:

  • Shopper Marketing
  • Merchandising
  • E-commerce
  • Insights

A fifth award, the Retail Innovator of the Year, will be given to a retail organization based on the results of surveys conducted with members of the Institute’s community.

The Industry Innovator Awards will become a permanent part of the Institute’s annual efforts to recognize individuals within our community, alongside the Hall of Fame, the Women of Excellence, the Who’s Who series, and People to Watch.

Shopper Marketing Innovator of the Year
Awarded to an industry professional at a consumer product manufacturer or retail organization whose innovative thinking led to exceptional success through integrated shopper marketing planning and activation.

Merchandising Innovator of the Year
Awarded to an industry professional at a consumer product manufacturer or retail organization whose innovative thinking led to exceptional success through in-store marketing and merchandising.

E-commerce Innovator of the Year
Awarded to an industry professional at a consumer product manufacturer or retail organization whose innovative thinking led to exceptional success in digital marketing and e-commerce activation.

Insights Innovator of the Year
Awarded to an industry professional at a consumer product manufacturer or retail organization whose innovative thinking led to exceptional success through the development and implementation of shopper insights.
